Bright Little Stars

“Bright Little Stars” is an educational program for babies 9 months to 2.11 years old based on the latest research on child development and learning!

Each 55 minute session includes physical exercise, language activities, music, and the use of unique and innovative educational materials, discovery oriented toys and games.  Parents and care-givers are active participants in each session.  Suggested activities to do at home are included.

We also offer a 90 minute “Pre-K Prep Program” for children who will be entering pre-Kindergarten next year (children should be 2 years old, turning 3 next year).  This program will help children develop important skills and habits that will allow them to get the best possible start in school!

The semester long program is  held on Saturday mornings at Ascension School.  Dr. Patricia Vardin, Chair of the Early Childhood Department at Manhattanville College and consultant with Ascension’s Early Childhood program, is the founder and director of “Bright Little Stars.”

Ms Amanda Lincoln, the Head Teacher and Associate Director, has a Master of Arts in Education degree at Manhattanville College. She holds a BFA in Communication Design at Pratt Institute and was a Peace Corps volunteer for 2 years. She has worked in a variety of educational settings with children and is currently a teacher of 3 year olds at the Good Shepherd School in New York City.

The 2012 Spring semester begins January 21st and extends through May.

Children may be admitted to the program at any point during the school year.
